Brief History

Malaysian Airlines began as Malayan Airways Limited and flew its first commercial flight in 1947. With a vision to connect Malaysia to the world, the airline quickly becomes the nation’s symbol of pride.

In 1963, it was changed to Malaysian Airways after the formation of the Federation of Malaysia.

Next, it merged with Singapore Airlines to form Malaysia Singapore Airlines (MSA) in 1966, which became one of the largest airlines in Southeast Asia.
